Building production software

Associate Software Engineer Intern

Key Contributions
- Build production features in Angular and TypeScript that ship to real users, not just a staging environment.
- Design accessible interfaces to WCAG standards. It's the kind of work that's invisible when done right.
- Started front-end, now working across the stack as I pick up backend development.
- Debug and maintain a live production codebase, where every fix has to hold up under real usage.
- Work alongside engineers, QA, and product to ship features that actually match what was asked for.
- Use AI tools deliberately. They're a starting point, but I still read and test the output myself instead of trusting it blindly.
- Learning in real time how professional software actually gets built, including the parts no class teaches.

Helping future engineers see what a Computer Science degree actually looks like day to day.
- Lead campus tours for prospective engineering students and their families.
- Share my own path through Computer Science, including the parts that weren't easy.
- Help students find research opportunities and campus resources I wish I'd known about sooner.
- Represent the College of Engineering at recruitment events.
- Support Engineering Day and other events drawing 300+ attendees.

Led campus-wide programming and mentored the students who'd carry it forward.
- Planned large-scale campus events reaching 1,000+ students.
- Interviewed 100+ applicants and selected the 2024–2025 Freshman Ambassador Board.
- Collaborated with other directors to keep campus programming running smoothly.
- Mentored engineering students on résumés, internships, and professional development.
- Sat in on weekly leadership meetings and mentorship sessions, which turned into a crash course in organizational leadership.
